The Toffees have opened talks with Wolfsburg over a move for the wantaway midfielder, who has a €75 million (£63m) release clause
Everton are ready to rival Arsenal in the race for Julian Draxler, according to The Independent.
The Germany international has revealed that he wants to leave Wolfsburg this summer, claiming that he has been promised a move by the German club if a major European club registers their interest.
Everton have made the first move and are in talks with Wolfsburg over a deal for the midfielder.
Draxler has a release clause of €75 million (£63m), but Wolfsburg claimed on Wednesday that they had no plans to sell the player.
