Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho admits some of his players may be struggling to cope with the pressure of expectation.

A Manchester United fanzine poll has found that more than 99 percent of respondents want captain Wayne Rooney to be dropped.

The Red Issue Sanctuary poll, opened after United’s 3-1 defeat at Watford in which Rooney struggled, showed 99.08 percent saying it was time for Jose Mourinho to axe him from the United lineup, the Manchester Evening News reported.

The defeat was United’s third in a week following the home Manchester derby loss and the Europa League reverse at Feyenoord.

Rooney, 30, played in a three-man midfield but was unable to assert any influence as Watford secured victory with two late goals.

Speaking after United’s win at Hull last month, Mourinho had said he would have “no problem” dropping Rooney from his team.
